Bad Cholesterol with Black Tomato

For those of you who are struggling to reduce levels of cholesterol or high blood pressure, there is now a practical and comfortable solution. From now on, diligent eating foods containing fruits such as tomato paste or tomato juice.

According to a research report published journal Maturity, the food of the tomatoes are cooked like pasta turned out to have almost the same efficacy as cholesterol-lowering drug chemistry.

As reported by the Daily Mail, experts recommend that tomatoes can be "effective alternative" replacement statins, drugs commonly prescribed for conditions that cause heart problems.
According to researchers, with only eating two ounces, or about 60 grams of tomato paste or tomato juice every eighth day is enough for patients to receive these benefits.

The secret lies in lycopene, a compound that gives red light at a ripe tomato. This powerful antioxidant important to health in lowering the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Researchers emphasize, cooked tomatoes are the best sources. It has been demonstrated in research in which the body can absorb more lycopene from cooked tomatoes than tomatoes that have not been cooked.

This is a study of experts in Australia who analyzed 14 international studies on the benefits of lycopene in the last 55 years. They concluded that these compounds may provide a natural protection against the effects of increasing levels of "bad cholesterol" or low density lipoprotein in the blood.

The effect of cooked tomatoes can be compared with small doses of statins used to treat patients with high cholesterol or blood pressure. This condition can be a factor of cardiovascular disease.

One study author, Dr Karin Ried, of the University of Adelaide, said tomatoes have particularly high levels of lycopene. He added, half a liter of tomato juice or 50 grams of tomato paste every day to provide protection against heart disease. But if you only eat a tomato a day would not be enough.

"I really recommend to consider the tomato paste. Foods rich in lycopene and not difficult to get 50 grams per day or in a pizza or a drink. Our study shows, when more than 25 grams of lycopene consumed every day, it can reduce cholesterol"poor "by more than 10 percent," said Ried.

"It can be likened to the effect of low doses of medication commonly prescribed but without side effects, such as muscle pain and weakness and nerve damage," he added.

Lycopene is also found in watermelon, guava, papaya, pink grapefruit, apricot and rosehip, but in lower concentrations.
